Origins of SHOCK AND AWE
by chachasmum inthe basis of hitler's blitzkrieg, march 14, 2003 .
reviewer: a reader from langley, va, united states shock and awe were the foundational concepts put forth by hitler's military leaders as a new and lethal way of rapidly overwhelming opponents.
setting aside considerations of the violence visited on civilians and non-combatants or the damage done to infrastructure, hitler suggested that inducing "shock and awe" through his "lightning war" system would lead to rapid military victories.

ThiChi:
If anything biblical of import does resonate, it must be the description of John the Baptist as the lone voice crying out in the wilderness. He was definitely an early example of whistle-blowing to say the least, if you accept the account as its related. The account may be exaggerated or fiction, but the example is worthy to note.
I don't know if you were ever a JW. If you were, maybe you visited Bethel at one time. During the 80's & 90's there were always one or two gentlemen outside 25 Columbia Heights and 360 Furman Street holding picket signs and shouting comments about the WTBS. As JW's, we were to consider them apostates, crazy, insane and dangerous. Now I know they may have been telling the sad truth all along.
If voices do not come forth and publish the hidden treacheries that plague society, we cannot defend ourselves. If people had read Mein Kampf in advance, had studied german economics, the Balfour Declaration, then people would have known a crisis was coming. Today, many sources are speaking out about the insidious relationship the US has with Israel.
It is not because they worship one God, or use a bokk called the Talmud, or Torah, or light candles. Who cares? Do I care that italians make pasta when italo-american gangsters corrupt my local city hall and council? No. When a group of people unite themselves to accomplish purposes in the same direction to benfit the group, that is an agenda.
The Gambino family in the 60's & 70's had an agenda to control all sanitation, fishing, exporting and labor in the continental US. They did it for 20 years. Is that an italian agenda? No. It is an organized crime agenda. Jews and pro-jewish supporters muddle the issue by crying anti-semitism and mixing the issues with ethnicity. Therefore, under the jewish way of dealing with issues, it becomes a jewish agenda. I prefer to call it a zionist agenda. Not all jews are zionists, politically active, or pro-israel.
William Koestler, Benjamin Freedman and several others are good examples of civic minded individuals who exposed dangers from within their communities that outsiders would not have been able to discern. The US government benefited by the testimony of Joseph Valachi in understanding there actually was a secret society hidden in the immigrant italian community and operating a feudal criminal organization.
I will post an article to help you better understand my position on this matter and remove the diversionary cloak of anti-semitism in this discussion. -

One thing is certain. I have been able to avoid descending into personal attacks when challenged or confronted with disagreement. Your comments display a negative sentiment. This is an internet forum. The purpose is interchange, discussion, interaction among other things. The time is brief, therefore I cannot make a 9-5 job out of posting every single resource and every single article to make each point.
I make a point, I offer some information. Try the BBC link I provided in the other thread about Israel & US/UK. Just as there are hidden degrees of truth in stereotypes, there are hidden facts behind conspiracies. If you watched the Discovery Channel last year, you might have seen an episode recounting the true story behind the FDR administration having advance knowledge of the pearl harbor attack. In order to have a justifiable excuse before congress, the attack warnings were ignored. Documents surfaced later to reveal the insider truth.
The same occurred in WWI. The british knew U-Boats were operating and understood the german warning about ships carrying munitions, troops or weapons. The Lusitania had several gun mounts which were purposely exposed to provoke a u-boat attack. The passengers and crew had no idea they were bait for provocation to enter the war and help the british. Churchill knew it.
The USS Maine was docked in Cuba, and the Spanish were purposely blamed for sabotage to obtain more territory and defend the Monroe Doctrine under Roosevelt. The resulting ended Spain's presence in the western hemisphere.
So, how much Watergate, WhiteWater, Waco, Willy Horton, does it take to convince the stubborn?

US and Israel's 'common cause'
By Barbara Plett
BBC Middle East correspondent
These are days of war talk, and the same sort of talk is coming out of Israel and the United States. From Israel's Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon: "Israel will not surrender to blackmail. He who rises up to kill us, we will pre-empt it and kill him first. As we have proven there is no and there will never be any shelter for evil."
From US President George W Bush: "We will not wait to see what terrorists or terrorist states could do with weapons of mass destruction. We are determined to confront threats wherever they arise and as a last resort we must be willing to use military force."
It is the language of war against terrorism, used for both Iraq and for the Palestinians.
But are the two conflicts the same?
"The Americans and the Iraqis don't have a dispute about land, they don't have a political dispute about sharing the same area," says Israeli defence correspondent Alex Fishman.
"In Israel, we've got an historical, cultural dispute, it's a completely different story, you can't compare it."
Common language
So if the conflicts are different, why is the language the same?
Suicide bombings have certainly contributed.
They have reinforced Ariel Sharon's view that Palestinian violence is terrorism rather than a national struggle against occupation.
And, says analyst Akiva Eldar, they have also suited his political agenda.
"The suicide bombings is something that made it even easier for Sharon to sell this equation that we and you the Americans are in the same boat," he says.
"Because 11 September was a suicide bombing. Both in the US and in Israel it helped people to paint the conflict in black and white."
Regime change
But it is more than the way the US and Israel describe their conflicts; they also talk about the same solutions.
Regime change, for instance, is viewed by many as good not only for the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, but also for the Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat.
"In the case of Arafat it's been clear for the vast majority of Israelis for probably close to three years now that we will get nowhere with him," says former Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Arens, "that there has to be regime change there if we're going to arrive at useful negotiations."
Then there is military occupation - of the West Bank right now, but maybe soon of Baghdad.
And pre-emptive strikes - long an Israeli policy - have become part of the US lexicon.
Israeli counter terrorism expert Boaz Ganor witnessed the transition in American thinking while he was there on a lecture tour that coincided with 9/11.
"Of course I had been asked difficult questions, like how dare Israel use targeted killings, they called it assassinations," he says.
"After 9/11 this question was not asked even once.
"Because the same day of 9/11 President Bush said we are going to hunt them, and what is hunting them if not targeted killings?"
Tough image
So does this mean Israel is directly influencing Washington's strategy for its war against terrorism?
"I think we in Israel have to be more modest than that," says Moshe Arens.
"I think the United States has shown itself to be quite creative in the fighting in Afghanistan, I don't think they needed to learn anything from us."
But some think Ariel Sharon may have shown what it is possible to get away with.
"I am sure that Bush looks at Sharon and says to himself: listen, this is a tough guy, look what he is doing there, he is succeeding, the Israelis like it, the international community is not really too upset about this," says Akiva Eldar.
"So perhaps this is the message to the Americans, that it works."
What about after the war? How would an American victory affect the Israeli Palestinian conflict?
Some say it would facilitate a solution, others that it would complicate matters.
Peace by force
What seems clear now is that Israel and the US increasingly have the same approach to dealing with conflict: one based on force and deterrence, rather than diplomacy and international law.
And here Akiva Eldar thinks there is a direct connection.
He says key policy advisors around George Bush do see America's battle with Iraq and Israel's battle with the Palestinians as part of the same war.
"They have actually suggested that Israel will help the United States to take over the Middle East," he says.
"They were sitting in think tanks that believed that you don't even try to appease or satisfy the Arabs, you reach peace by force which means you impose it... you don't make concessions to people you don't trust, and that puts them and Sharon in the same party."
That is a controversial view, one which few Israelis or Americans would accept.
But it is one which may be strengthened by a US strike against Iraq, at least in the eyes of Arabs and Muslims.

That "jeopardy" comment belongs in the same dumpster with all of the others like, "the smurf thing", "demonic music", "satanic pictues in the publications" etc.. JW's are so desperate and eager for any little tidbit because they are starved for information, blinded by regulation, hidden from civilization, and deprived from education.

Hey Double-A!
Long time no post! I agree. People should realize that mass-media opened the door to sensationalism along time ago. Once the balls starts rolling, it can't be stopped. People shouldn't get upset over public statements anymore. It's just par for the course.

Major WTS Prophecy goes down to defeat !!!
by Amazing inmany here may recall that the watchtower society has published much material on the prophetic role of the united nations ... specifically, the united nations is the scarlet colored wild beast, the "image" of the worldly 7 headed wild political beast ... it would be given life by the two-horned dual world power of britain and america, the "lamb-like beast spoken of in revelation ... this "image" beast would be given power to rule one prophetic hour over the nations as they subordinate their national sovereignty to it ... and so on ...
then ... after the creation of the united nations in 1945 in san francisco the wts interpreted revelation regarding the demise of the old league of nations to apply to a statement in revelation that this "image" beast would be revived in the form of the united nations ... seemingly, the wts was on to something ... and for the next 45 years (until about 1990) the watchtower published anything and everything they could to make their interpretation stick with respect to how deep in the time of the end they believed we were living in ... then, about 1990, the watchtower society joined the un as a member ngo ... a significant departure from their previous stand on political neutrality ... and ... hatred of satan's old system of things ... certainly, since we are nearly 90 years into the last days of this wicked system we would expect the un to be in control or at least taking the lead ...
so, now ... where do we stand as of march 19th, 2003?

I read the post from HURT. Of course, after laughing I began to think, what if this is a regular member who is bored and seeking to stir a little controversy? It is possible. I have thought about it many times. Imagine pretending to be a loyalist, defending Fred Hall or the WTBS just create some digital drama!

Matty:
Thanks. I agree. In the grand scheme, we are all pushing & pulling, moving & shoving our way through life while others do the same. It is an endless cycle of disagreements, struggles, battles, campaigns, initiatives, activism, and a million other vehicles used by man to resist himself and others. From a distance, it is really pathetic.
